Marilyn’s tomb in The Corridor of Memories at the Westwood Village Cemetery in Los Angeles.. It’s actually STAINED pink due to the thousands of red-lipstick kisses on the tomb by her many adoring fans after more than 50 years.. The groundkeepers clean her tomb with regular cleaning chemicals everyday because there’s always red kisses on it and throughout the years it has stained- not only that, it’s also changed the texture of the rock, if you feel the other graves around hers and then feel hers- there is a very noticeable change in the texture… Yes, her stone is stained but at the same time - it’s slowly withering away because of all the cleaning…
So if you visit her, it’s alright to kiss the tomb but please don’t wear lipstick, as it is hard for the men to clean it, I mean, us girls can just take makeup remover towelette nd clean it but the groundkeepers are men and they use the stain remover products that are available to them which are very powerful but sometimes not harsh enough for the lipsticks because these products are meant for stains made by dirt, mud, and specific oils— not makeup..♡
